Welcome & seating
Guests take their seats. Detox drinks are available. Time to silence phones and settle in.
What's happening?
The celebrant invites everyone to sit down. A team of videographers and photographers is here, so just relax and enjoy. Please switch your phones off, as you would at the cinema.

Entrance of the wedding party
The procession walks in, followed by the entrance of the couple.
What's happening?
The people closest to Julie and Edgar walk in two by two: their witnesses, their siblings, their parents and their nieces, along with their children Arthur and Auguste.
Then everyone is invited to stand: Edgar enters with his mother, and Julie with her father.

Words of welcome
Julie L., the celebrant, welcomes everyone.
What's happening?
The celebrant thanks everyone for being here to celebrate Julie and Edgar's union. Over the next hour or so, through the words of their family and friends, she will retrace their journey and, above all, their love.

The parents' words
The parents of Julie and Edgar each say a few words.
What's happening?
Edgar's father and his partner speak first, followed by Julie's parents, and then Edgar's mother. They share memories and a few words about the couple.

The couple's story
The celebrant tells the story of Julie and Edgar.
What's happening?
The celebrant retraces their journey: from Bordeaux to Lille, how they met, their little family nickname (“the Nouilles” — the Noodles), their children, and rain as the symbol of their love.

Main ritual: the pressed flowers
Loved ones place a flower and a note in the guest book; Julie and Edgar add the last one together.
What's happening?
One by one, close relatives and friends choose a flower from a bouquet, glue it into the guest book and write a short message to the couple.
Julie and Edgar go last, adding a final flower together with a message for each other. The book is then pressed, to seal this moment and keep their love between its pages forever. There may be some live singing during the ritual.

Words from siblings
Julie's brother, then Edgar's three sisters, speak about family bonds.
What's happening?
The focus turns to the family Julie and Edgar have built — their two boys, Arthur and Auguste. Thomas, Julie's brother, speaks first, followed by Edgar's three sisters.

The vows
Julie and Edgar exchange their vows.
What's happening?
This is the heart of the ceremony: Julie and Edgar speak directly to one another and share their personal promises.

The rings arrive
Little Ella brings in the wedding rings.
What's happening?
The celebrant explains that, far more than a piece of jewellery, the ring is the symbol of their love and commitment, worn every day for the rest of their lives. Ella carries the rings in.

Exchange of rings
Julie and Edgar exchange the rings, with a few words if they wish.
What's happening?
Each takes the other's ring, may say a short sentence, and slips it onto their finger.

The pronouncement
The celebrant pronounces Julie and Edgar married. Time to cheer!
What's happening?
The celebrant joyfully declares them husband and wife — applause, the kiss, and celebration!

The wool ball exit ritual
Balls of wool are tossed across the room to weave a web of bonds. The couple leave beneath the threads.
What's happening?
Witnesses and siblings each receive a colourful ball of wool, each colour standing for a value dear to Julie and Edgar. Holding one end, they announce the value and toss the ball into the crowd. Whoever catches it keeps the thread taut and throws again — weaving a great web. It symbolises that no couple builds their life alone: family, friends, colleagues, chance encounters… everyone is part of their story. Julie and Edgar then walk out beneath the web.
